The Upstate Soundscape

I have started writing for the upstate soundscape, a site run by Needles Neumark in conjunction with a radio show he does for by the same name on 91.3 WBNY FM in Buffalo. It’s a neat site that covers experimental music from all over upstate New York. We have some really fantastic things going on up here (like the Albany Sonic Arts Collective and Empac- and that is just close to me) and the upstate soundscape is one of the few places that covers that stuff. Which is great; a lot of this stuff needs more people talking about it.
Needles is expanding the site to include outside writers to do things like reviews and eventually some other stuff- which is where I come in. I will be writing poorly written reviews about things I am probably not qualified to write about. But it’s good fun for me at least and you should check them out.
The upstate soundscape site is here and I will have a review of Mold Omen‘s Blacktop on it soon. (which was quite good) I will post it here when it come out there as well
Here is a link to it http://upstatesoundscape.com/2012/01/06/2011-in-review-mold-omen-blacktop/
The Social Workers

The Social Workers Radio show – a project near and dear to my heart. Every Thursday 9am to 10am the program airs on WCDB in Albany. The host, Kathryn, who also host a show on VoiceAmerica, issues relating to, if this wasn’t unexpected, Social Work. I am there every week being the board operator and doing social media things.
Now if I could only use this to find a job in radio.

“Patriotism has nothing to do with Conservatism. It is actually the opposite of Conservatism, since it is a devotion to something that is always changing and yet is felt to be mystically the same. It is the bridge between the future and the past. No real revolutionary has ever been an internationalist.”
